GP Failed to record my autism diagnosis 4 months after assessment

Great. Now I found out my GP practice haven’t even recorded my autism diagnosis in my medical notes. The GP practice changed their email address and the referring clinician changed jobs so the emails containing my diagnosis report from the NHS Choices Provider sent four months ago were Never Opened. I have spent all day trying to sort it out. I am getting very frustrated and tired of it . I wondered why I never got a follow up from my GP

I contacted the NHS Choices Provider who has re sent the diagnosis report to the New GP practice email (which covers multiple different surgeries in my area). I also asked them to send a paper copy by Royal Mail to my GP Practice.

I also have requested to speak to the Gp surgery manager because I just find this so unacceptable. It’s made me feel very upset

  • I wonder how many others are waiting for results, not just of ASC and ADHD but things like blood tests and x=rays?

I'm not surprised you feel so upset, this shouldn't have been down to you to sort out, but the GP's surgery.

  • I knew my diagnosis results because the NHS choices provider sent me their report fairly soon after the assessment. They sent it to my GP practice at the same time. But the Gp practice never opened the emails. So for 4 months I presumed it was in my medical records but I was wrong. Had I not happened to have had a GP appointment today I still wouldn’t have known. I have had reasonable (reasonable ish) adjustments at work because I sent occupational health the pdf reports I had received from the diagnosis provider (private not NHS) . But had my employer insisted on a report from my GP I would have been stuffed. This was an almost catastrophic oversight on the part of my GP surgery
