Noise Cancelling Headphones

Got myself a pair of these and trying them out for the first time (just in my flat). No noise from the outside world, no rattling of radiators or boilers ticking over. Have a strangely calm sensation in my head which is hard to describe. 


Only uncovered what I strongly believe to be autism just over a week ago with my therapist, but I’m collecting more and more data every day that supports the discovery. Completely blindsided me if I’m honest but my response has been mostly positive so far.

There is definitely a little bit of grief behind it, but for the first time in my life the noise in my head and the tension in my body has been turned right down. I said to my therapist yesterday it’s like someone has handed me the instruction manual to my brain. Still lots of stuff to figure out but it’s a huge relief to finally have some answers after all these years.

Anyway, excuse my little tangent. The noise cancelling headphones are a good purchase it seems!

  • i rely on my noise cancelling headphones. because if i take them off i become unstable. i got into a fight with my neighbor the other day because of noise. i live in a flat that is hollow like crazy. and everything sounds like your right next to my ears. i can hear the diesel bus on the hill through my walls and windows. i can hear the kids play through my walls even though the windows are closed. i can hear the fans on my pc through my nc headphones. my hearing is so frustrating it causes distress when im unable to have peace. i live on top of lobby entrance and waste room. this place drives me crazy. on top of reassuring my cat too. i got no help with the noise issues in my home for when this place does get noisy. i hate fireworks. same as when watching a bluray and a gun goes off it scares the heck outta me. when playing games in surround sound sends me on edge. going to the movies and its loud. its annoying not scary. when my mom talks loud or a friend its annoying... when im done with my headphones for 16hrs a day i go straight to -35 db ear plugs to sleep. the pub on my road turns most evenings rowdy and loud. i hate where i live.
