Diagnosed in December with autism with high markers of ADHD.

I was diagnosed with autism in December with markers of ADHD. Then nothing on a support level.

anyway I’m struggling at work and I have got a letter to support my reduction in hours from 20 -14 but I’m worried they will be awful with me, and I have got a union but I just don’t know how this all works I’m in the process of been assessed for pip but no way I could work full time as I’m spending all my week but 6 hours on a Sunday, either preparing for work or recovering from work. Any helpful advice would really be appreciated. Xx

  • Dear Sara,

Thank you for reaching out to the online community, I can see you have already has some supportive replies,

It is really important you continue to prioritise your health and wellbeing- I know that is a lot easier said than done. It sounds very difficult to either be having to prepare yourself for work or support yourself after you have been in, it must make it challenging to feel well.

It may be helpful to reach out to Citizens Advice over support with your PIP and to see if you may be entitled to any other financial support when you reduce your hours. The NAS also have some advice and guidance on Financial help, money and benefits that might be helpful.

Please reach out to your GP or other healthcare professional if you feel your health is struggling.

I hope things feel better soon.

    Best wishes,
