No need to prep because scientists know that the pole has always been shifting. Navigation systems such as those used by pilots of aircraft are regularly updated to account for the shift of the magnetic pole.
I think I'll stick with a hard copy map.
I don't know how to se a compass, I've never been able to get my head around them, they just leave me feeling more lost and confused
Just don't forget to adjust your compass to match it! A lot of maps have the amount to adjust it by on them, but it needs updating eventually
