Umm … I tried that but I don’t understand what the purpose of it is. I would infer that ‘Site Leaders’ would be the total number of points a member has on the site, yet the points don’t agree with the total. I tried three different threads and they showed the same number of points. It’s very strange. Might it be another fault or am I not understanding something?
If I go into my profile, I have quite a different number of points, 8,228.
I am not sure what this means.
For any particular thread I don't think you can get thousands of points.
Also there are people who have been here much longer than me.

I was just going on the post from ArchaeC, I'm more than happy not to be a leader, it means I can still sit on the sidelines and blow raspberries, lol. Being a leader comes with to many responsibilities and expectations and theres no parapet to duck behind, lol
You and Iain are ahead of most people in your profile, but only Iain is ahead on several thread links and you are not mentioned. Iain’s thread points don’t seem to be related to the number or amount of his posts.
I say we go by your profile points and make you joint leader.
(I don’t understand any of it either, I’m just going by what I see)
So Iain, looks like you and me are site Ma and Pa
I'm afraid not as you are not on the list (see above).
Application for site leaders can be made directly to me.
A democratic process will be followed for the autocratic selection of the leaders, with only a very small amount of bribery allowed.
I do, I don't understand any of this, or have any knowlege of it and it's certainly nothing I wanted.
So Iain, looks like you and me are site Ma and Pa, what a happy thought.....lol
I think there is a fault somewhere in the points system because the ‘Site Leader’ points don’t relate to quality or quantity of narrative or post, longevity of member or anything else.
I know we have discussed this before, but I don’t like the points system which appears under profile. The idea of points on a forum is usually to encourage people and reward them for posting content. As the NAS is a charity and the forum doesn’t charge members a fee, I don’t think people should be getting points based on the quantity of posts they write.
Might it be of benefit to some people to post more often? It would be hard to judge as those people mightn’t be in a position to post right now.
Maybe this would be worth discussing on a separate thread.
Interesting! Maybe it’s how many points the moderators give you…. Wonder why deleted user left? Seemed very sudden
