I dont know if im on the right forum my grandson has autism he is 22 only been diagnosed 2 years ago he has been distressed these past few days saying his head hurts and he feels like hes going mad I want to help him but not sure on what to do to help him it's breaking my heart

  • Hello.

Is it an actual physical issue, or a psychological pressure?

Is he worrying about something? Is there something he can't talk about?

Sorry this is a few days late, that’s because new users have to be approved by admins before their first post hits the forum.

If this is still an issue, it sounds like a trip to the GP is in order. If the headaches are still persisting at a high intensity, then a GP is probably your best bet. A quick fix is to make sure he is well hydrated.

In regards to “going mad,” if he is in distress, you could contact Samaritans. But if he seems stable then you should just focus on getting rid of the headaches. I can understand how Autism and intense headaches together could cause someone to feel like they are losing control.
