Gp problems

I keep getting links from my gp when I ask for help. The issue is I can’t even use links right now, I can’t navigate the internet. For someone who is educated and has been able to do so much all my life I don’t know how to navigate this severe loss of function.

I can’t do anything.

Help!!!!!!

  • Sounds difficult when it's from somewhere that's meant to help you. You could say you are having touble and they might be able to print something off?

If it's trying to type in the links, that can be tricky. Do you have a phone at all? A lot of cameras let you take a photo and then can copy the text. Not always reliable and if technology in general is difficult that might not help?

Sometimes it's eaier to find the base of the website and then look for links to click on. Really sorry if this all sounds like jargon. You should be able to request them to help with it if you are struggling, as GP's shouldn't leave people without being able to access help.

  • I mean I can’t absorb the information on the websites and make sense of them. It’s too much information, it’s overwhelming and I can’t make sense of it enough to get the help I need.

I just need someone to tell me exactly what to do or who to call for therapy.

  • Ahh yes, websites are really hard and I can find them overwhelming too if there is too much.

I haven't tried it, but my kids use text to speech readers, which can read you out the information

Then you could shut your eyes and just listen which can help?

It would be good if there was a service to help with this kind of thing.
