New Year's resolution backfire

My new years resolution is to stop masking and just say what i'm thinking and feeling - well it's been one day and after trying to navigate a conversation that i was avoiding about mould in the bathroom i've landed myself in the midst of a backlash about how i'm trying to cause trouble and that i'm selfish etc etc....... no wonder we mask, i think not doing it is safer! Anyone relate?

  • what on earth did you say about the mould in the bathroom?

reading your post I’ve realised that I’m not certain I’ve ever masked with my friends - I obviously do with people I’ve not know very long or colleagues but my intimate friends I do this with and they know me and help and know I just word vomit my thoughts sometimes to help process them. I think actually if you have safe friends you know you can word vomit with and they know that you are not a malicious aggressive person it can be really beneficial because they help you figure out your problems. You just need to know who your friends are
