Government sneaking in 4 pt LCWRA rule

Hello

I saw a video from a lady who follows what the government are trying to do to disabled people.

She says the government is pushing through a 4 point rule for LCWRA and people are going to be reassessed to see if they have a life long condition that is NHS and only the NHS.

is this true does anybody know?

here is the video www.youtube.com/watch

  • I didn’t watch the whole video because I didn’t like how the person presented the information and I don’t trust video information.

I haven’t heard anything about this but what I do know is that the government Health Secretary Wes Streeting is currently reviewing whether or not mental health conditions, autism and ADHD are being over diagnosed and if this is the case it could be used to justify cuts to PIP.  However organisations and autism charities are submitting evidence to show that autism and ADHD are under diagnosed.

Discussions among government ministers go on all the time but this is the latest current information I can find about LCWRA. It doesn’t include recent discussions.

Please try not to worry as there is a lot of media hype and sensationalism around.

  • She does say in the video that these things might be being pushed through in secret before the reviews that are happening..

Her info is usually ok but like you i am wary, also trying not to worry too much but that is hard for someone like me

thanks for your answer Slight smile

  • also trying not to worry too much but that is hard for someone like me

I understand that and it is easy for me to say. I think much of LCWRA and PIP evidence for eligibility is gathered from GP records and other professionals who deal with autism or daily living challenges, so you might have these things recorded there? In worse case scenarios you could get any decision reviewed with the help of Citizen’s Advice or a similar organisation. Any government decisions mightn’t apply to existing claimants.

  • Are you UK based and do you have any children?

  • i only go when there is something physical wrong but there will be records of the home treatment team

I don’t want to be nosy or intrusive, but if your home treatment team attend due to issues related to your benefits, that would be more relevant to your benefits potentially continuing than having simply a diagnosis of autism with no current or recent treatment.

As you would already know, autism in itself doesn’t always mean people can’t hold down a full time job and many autistic people have low support needs that wouldn’t currently qualify for LCWRA or PIP. That is the key difference under the current system.

i guess we will know more in the coming weeks

Yes. The government hasn’t a clue and doesn’t care about how these ongoing and prolonged debates and media hype about autism, ADHD and mental health conditions affect people such as yourself. Keep strong and hope for the best.
