Legal advice

When calling for legal advice is it normal for them to advise you that depending what you say they may need to inform your doctor, your local police force, your EMPLOYER …. Surely if you’re calling for legal advice about your employer they wouldn’t need to inform them, I mean I hope not. Surely that would be corruption?

  • What sort of service is it?

If a private lawyer, solicitor, barrister, they act on their client's behalf and wth their best interests, plus with client confidentiality. So it sounds a bit strange.

If it's a free service then you need to read the terms and conditions.

If it's a no-win no-fee type thing they may contact people to judge the chances of winning and whether to take it on.
