Thank you to the people that wrote back. I appreciate it. I did find something online through an organization called aane.org and will continue to look for other resources. good luck to you all in getting the support and help you need !

I've just been diagnosed at 51. I know here in Cornwall there is an online group that meets via Teams for people who have been referred through the adult autism team - is there anything like that where you are? 

This seems like a good place to start too.

There are no virtual group meetups that I'm aware of.

Most autists are shy of groups anyway and/or have issues with their social skills so would avoid them.

This community is the best place I know of in 4 years of being active in the scene.

The low barrier for interaction and low demands of response work well fo us.

Currently I'm all still new to this (out that's how it feels) and just using the forum. It's easier and less pressure to drop in and out.
