If Name Blindness is a thing is forgetting where you are going also a thing?

Is there a name for forgetting how you are going to get where you’re going either on foot or by car?! I’ve done this since I learnt to drive (40 years ago) and have to try to think of the place I’m going (sometimes that’s really hard to visualise) and then think back to where I am now to work out my route. If that doesn’t stick I have to keep doing it over and over again on the journey. Does anyone know if this is an autistic thing or just me?

  • I have this problem.

I have to see the place first of all physically on Google maps, which helps. Then I will have lots of stress about getting there, and if there are different modes of transport involved, like car and tram, I have things written down.

It will take a very long time for the route to stick into my memory.

My sense of direction is very poor.

I worry a lot about traveling because of it.
