Divorce, Separation

Hi there
I wondered if you might know of any advocacy groups or specific law firms that can help neurodivergent individuals going through separation / divorce with no money to cover costs? I'm worried its going to get nasty and my partner will take advantage of the situation and leave me with nothing.
Thanks in advance

  • I've not found a lot of information about divorce for autists and there don't seem to be many legal professionals who specialise in it.

There is some advice on this site:

    https://neurolaunch.com/high-functioning-autism-and-divorce/

I note that is has been reported that the site is AI generated so use the advice with caution, but I've not come across any other reasonable sources of info.

I do think a lawyer or solicitor who specialises in divorce is going to be very important. They should be able to look at the finances and make a reasonable guess on whether they can claim enough to cover the costs from this but you may have to find some money to pay for that initial consultation.

If your partner has their own solicitor/lawyer and you don't then they can easily try to take eveything, hence my advice.

To make sure I comply with the site rules here, my advice is to get specialised legal advice.
