Ongoing repercussions from first public meltdown.

Hi everyone.

I posted a while back about having my first public meltdown in my front garden & a neighbour

who knew I was autistic making it all about her even though it was nothing to do with her &

got her husband involved. Well since then when I walk down the communal path & he is out

side regardless of where I am on the path he will start walking on it ,even if I am 1/2-3/4 of

the way up, meaning I either have to turn around or step off the path into my or others

gardens so he can carry on.

How would you handle that. I have kept very composed ,not lashed out or had a meltdown

but it is stressing me out & sending my anxiety into overdrive. The irony is he works for the

NHS in a non medical role

  • Unfortunately you can’t choose your neighbours and in this case it’s best to ignore them as much as you are possibly able to. If you ignore them and don’t react to any perceived negative behaviours towards you then you’ll have more of a case to get authorities involved should it escalate to a point you are unable to cope.
