Unmasking?

I seem to only unmask with only friends but not to strangers or even parents I'm on the waiting list again fir second opinion so how am I going to explain this I've been masking since i was a child so I can cone across very normal which was reason for my last test fail because I showed no signs of speech issues or echolalia I think it was but only im annoying apparently and rude and task fast and very hyper about my interests etc. Issue is I can't with strangers or family

  • If you are a high masking autistic person you need to explain in detail how, when and why you mask to your assessors. The easiest way is to write this in your preliminary questionnaire, as you may not be able to fully or accurately describe your problems verbally on the day.

    As an example, I make eye contact, but I do it consciously, I time when to make, hold and break eye contact. This is not how neurotypical people make eye contact, they do it with no conscious volition. I wrote this in my questionnaire, so that my assessor did not take the mistaken impression that I made eye contact in a neurotypical manner.

    8 can't make eye contact to uncomfortable I've tried but my anxiety goes through roof. Kast time it was questions being asked ill write things down as apparently im not very good at communicating to people I can answer questions but guve very little and more. Honestly social interaction us exhausting unless I know them well and even then it's still hard
