I am just wanting to ask peoples opinions.
i am autistic and had have ADHD. I was taking ADHD medication and doing really well, i did find my autistic traits were more obvious when on medication but i did find life easier.
my Gp then decided they were no longer going to prescribe. I have argued and got nowhere. This has been over a year and i have managed without.
recently though my m:h has not been great and have done some silly things. Many years ago i was given an antidepressant that didn’t really work that well but I think that was down to the un diagnosed ADHD at the time. I felt it would be a good idea to try it again as I can’t have the ADHD meds and wanted to be proactive and help myself.
the GP is aware of S/H as she has shipped me to A&E, she is also aware I have an issue with tablets. My other medication I have weekly and have for years. I have started doing this with the tablets again so asked for the Liquid form of the antidepressant like I had before and she refused. I explained I’m having issues with tablets and there is a risk I could just take everything on an impulse where with liquid I don’t have the same Obsession.
she said it’s too expensive and I could just drink all the liquid. I explained I wouldn’t do that as I don’t see it in the same way. Again she said it was too expensive. I said there is no point in tablets as I could just take them
i I felt she was just arguing with me, I asked her calmly to stop arguing with me. I was getting too overwhelmed so I just picked my bag up and walked out. I wasn’t rude didn’t race off just walked out.
what I’d like to ask is am I been unreasonable asking for liquid? And also is it really fair to not give me 2 medications now due to cost?
if I’m in the wrong then fair play just need to hear what others think
