Dating AI girlfriends becoming more common for males

I read an interesting article today on how a trend if forming for boys to date AI girlfriends rather than real girls:

This may be something that actually has application for autists looking to develop the skills to date real partners.

There are some negatives too as you would expect and it shows up how dangerous AI is in giving us what it thinks we want and trying to hook us into continued use.

An interesting read if nothing else.

  • I'm more experienced with boyfriends than girlfriends, so I may be missing something, but I always found a huge advantage of real boyfriends is that you can kiss them and have sex with them. But I wouldn't be surprised if there's some AI phone app thing which does that for you nowadays.

    There are ranges of sex dolls available now which are physically incredibly lifelike and are used like pseudo girlfriends by many in Japan and the US.

    Add the rate of progress of robotics and AI and we are at the point where an android is becoming viable that will appear like the maching in the M3GAN films or the Channel 4 series Humans ( https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Humans_(TV_series  )

    That Humans series does also cover to a degree how the androids are repurposed for sex and some of the ethical questions around it.

    I believe we are ony a few years away from the first, basic models of this from the same manufacturers of the current lifelike sex dolls and expect this to become a big success commerically.

    The attraction of having a sex partner that you can switch on, have whatever sort of dialogue you want with, can program to be only supportive and to be always up for whatever tastes you have without judging you would seem a recipie for success for use by many men.

    Is it healthy? I suspect not, but this has not stopped many other commerical enterprises over the years.
