Getting a job

I’m 29. I have very little work experience and nothing from the last 6 years.
I'm in desperate need of money and need a job. I’m afraid no one will want to hire me.
I’ve applied for PIP and have been denied. I’m so desperate. Any advice?

  • I don't know if it is still the same, but years ago after I finished my degree and was looking for full time employment I found that you could always get work through temp agencies, the work mostly wasn't very interesting, at minimum wage and after taking petrol money into account it worked out more or less the same income as I was getting on benefits - even so I thought it was worth doing as I could put on my CV that I was working.

I think now with Universal Credit allowing you to do some work and still receive benefits doing something similar might result in you being a bit better off than otherwise (I would check the rules first though as you  don't want to end up worse off).
