Being described ss rude and condescending

So I don't yet have a formal assessment of autism.. but a good friend who is a etured head teacher from a "good" academy says I am clearly on the scale and often very difficult to get on with.

Lately the practice manager at my GP surgery writes me a letter accusing me of being rude and condescending. I don't think I was being rude or condescending. I was just being to the point. I now been removed from the practice list.To say the least I am pretty piffed off.. The practice manager and senior partner are breaking the law..

I'm sure there is but does anybody have any knowledge of well respected papers, academic studies et cetera that describe how us autistic types appear to behave differently to the, rest of the population

 Any help would be much appreciated

  • You can try

    * Switch practice.

    * Write everything in advance (before seeing the doctor or making phone call.)

    Maybe some of it helps.

  • Problem there is that this is the second time it has happened.. Seems the admin manager and her assistant manager (why does an administrator need an assistant) think they are the reason for the doctors  being in the building. They forget that some people are not necessarily the same as the rest

  • Are waiting for a formal assessment? If so then maybe you could appeal this descision? If you've not asked for a referal and are not on the path to diagnosis, then I'm afraid they're probably witin their rights to remove you from their list. Without a diagnosis or at least a referal then how are they to know that your apparent rudeness is due to ND rather than you just being rude? They may have staff who are ND too and find you hard to deal with.

    I do agree though that to many Admin Manager and Practice Managers see anything less than grovelling and forlock tugging as a patient being rude and many seem to be looking for an excuse to rid themselves of patients. It reminds of when I was a child and we all feared THE RECEPTIONIST, who was always a dragon guarding the doctor and did expect forelock tugging and grovelling. I think that so many GP's practices are so overloaded with patients that they'll use almost any excuse to cut patient numbers.

  • I was trying to get medical help towards an assessment for depression and or ADHD / Autism.
