Help

Hi

just wondering if anyone can help me

my 2 year old is going through diagnosis at moment, he already has a suport group who visit house once a week and he goes to stay and play sessions, they have also told me he will have a full time support worker at play school with him in September!!

we we have just been given 3 months to leave are current property due to landlord wanting it back for family! We have been looking for ages but no one will have us with out guarantor due to my partner being self employed, and getting help with rent dss!

Basicly im soooo worried as we have tried apeverything , I'm so worried how my son will cope with moving, he hates change and is really bad for routine! I can not even move anything around in his room with out him having a episode

  • Much will depend on what area you live in as to whether you are likely to get a housing association house but you should start the ball rolling by applying however a HA are likely to want you to be evicted rather than you hand the keys over because they would see that as making yourself voluntarily homeless!

Once you have a diagnosis on paper, you will move further up the housing ladder, I believe however you may need to ask your consultant to specifically write something about the constant threat of moving that you get in the private sector will impact on your son.

Again, it really depends on where you live.  When I split from my ex, I moved into unsuitable private rented accomodation and put my name down on the housing list but was still on it 6 years later.  I then moved to a different part of the country, lived with my sister for 5 months and got a place with a HA that is perfect for my daughter who is on the spectrum.  We were slightly overcrowded at my sisters but I still can't get over how quickly I was offered a home.  I thank my lucky stars every day because I know I can live here with my daughter for as long as we want providing I pay the rent!
