Light sensitivity

Hi all,

I work in a nursery where the rooms are lit by 9 very bright hospital type lights. I can handle them for a certain length of time but they really bother me especially on a bad day. I spoke to my manager about possibly changing the bulbs to less brightness or using lamps, both were a no.

She suggested trying to find out if there was anything which can be done to help on my glasses. 

I'm reluctant to spend more money tbh, but with no other option....

Does anyone know if there is something out there that isn't sun glasses, because I don't think she'll want me wearing them at work?

    I'd encourage you not to worry too much about your manager's (expected or actual) initial reactions to any changes that you might suggest.

    Whilst it's perfectly natural to be worried about what she might not like or prefer, or about the various rules that would normally apply to employees, it's important to remember that, as an autistic person, you are legally regarded as disabled and are entitled, by law, to reasonable adjustments from your employer.

    You might find the advice and linked resources here helpful in guiding your discussions with the nursery, including if they deny your requests:
