Light sensitivity

Hi all,

I work in a nursery where the rooms are lit by 9 very bright hospital type lights. I can handle them for a certain length of time but they really bother me especially on a bad day. I spoke to my manager about possibly changing the bulbs to less brightness or using lamps, both were a no.

She suggested trying to find out if there was anything which can be done to help on my glasses.

I'm reluctant to spend more money tbh, but with no other option....

Does anyone know if there is something out there that isn't sun glasses, because I don't think she'll want me wearing them at work?

  • How about a baseball cap - there are plenty out there in mesh to let your head breathe and you can get them in the same colour as your uniform.

So long as you avoid looking up it should shield your eyes from the worst of the glare.

They are cheap (£5-10 moslty for unbranded stuff) and if they match you uniform then it is much more likely to be accepted although it doesn't meet the company policy.
