Problem dog next door

My next door neighbours have a *** spaniel that barks persistently every other day, it's drilling into my brain and inducing dark thoughts.  Do ultrasonic devices or sounds and dog whistles really work to discourage them?  Id prefer to avoid confrontation or giving my identity to authorities.  Discretion is preferred.

If anyone knows an effective ultrasonic frequency for spaniels post it.

  • barks persistently every other day

You lucky, lucky b—! I get it every day from a labrador. Wink

I wouldn't consider upsetting the dog with ultrasound, though. Maybe a short blast on a whistle wouldn't cause lasting harm, but leaving an electronic device on all day could be a different matter. Ultrasound probably won't penetrate walls much and might just make the dog worse if it did. (You've probably noticed that if music is playing on the far side of a wall, you hear the low-frequency sounds more than the high-frequency ones.)

My approach is to move to a non-adjoining room (might not be possible for you), put on some music, or just wear my NC headphones. That takes the edge off.

Other than that, take 's advice and talk to your neighbour (use ChatGPT to script it for you) or talk to your council.
