Comfort Foods

I’ve been thinking lately about some of my habits when feeling stressed. One of them is turning to comfort foods.

My comfort foods vary quite a bit, some healthy and others not so much.

I was curious about anyone else that has comfort foods and what they may be if anyone is comfortable sharing?

  • You can buy pork crackling in your butcher - it's minus the pork chops but still very nice

Where I live (Brazil) there is a very popular side dish made from seasoned pork belly. They take it, roast it then deep fry it for extra crispiness so when you bite into to, it is mega crunchy, cooked through and delicious.

It can taste quite fatty (for what is mostly deep fried fat it is not surprising) but it is such a mix of sensations - hot, crunchy, juicy and flavoursome. Moderation is required as it is quite unhealthy.

It is one of my favourite Saturday treats.
