Recommendations for a ND tailored clinical psychologist?

I'm a 44 year-old ASD male with a lifelong history of anxiety and panic disorders. A recent difficult period has left me suffering with sever anxiety, panic and burnout. I have spoken to my GP and been put back on antidepressants and am taking steps such as mindfulness and exercise to feel better.

But I do feel like it's finally time to see someone professionally who can help me address the root causes of my anxiety, panic and phobias, rather than treating the symptoms, so I've been looking for a psychologist. Obviously being ND I would like to find someone who understands how this could affect potential therapy approaches, sensory issues and PDA etc.

I was wondering if anyone had any recommendations? I'm based in the North West but would prefer online sessions anyway so location doesn't really matter. Any help would be really appreciated, thanks.

  • I did ask the mods a while back if we could refer therapists who have experise in working with autists, but have not heard back.

     can you advise if this was considered and if we can give out the contact details please?

    For reference this was considered a sensitive issue at the time because it involved giving out contact details for the threapist which could be considered against the site rules for 1) personal details and 2) advertising of services.

    However there does seem an appetite for this due to the experiences of users with therapists lacking in the necessary autism experience / skills.

    I wouldn't even necessarily need the contact details, just a name and I could do some research. Or maybe private message me details is OK?
