Accelerated burnout

summer is an absolute *** of a season.  everything seems to be turned up to eleven!

To add, dogs seem to bark more frequently and louder this time too.

Add the heat and the bugs, smog, pollen and migrating some of my activities to the nighttime when I have the space to think, and I crash every few days.

It's a miracle when things settle down after dark, am i right?

Thank goodness for my noise cancelling headphones!

  • Hi Mercury, I can relate to what you are saying about everything turned up to eleven. Summer is so noisy, lawnmowers going at early hours, hedge trimmers, neighbours doing D-I-Y or playing loud dance music on repeat. My nerves frayed...I like the dark, quieter times. I'm glad you have noise cancelling headphones. Are they suitable for people with tinnitus? I have tinnitus and noise sensitivity and have thought about getting some headphones.

  • I would say they help a lot.  A good set with active noise cancelling playing white noise or music really dulls down the background chaos and diverts my mind from my own tinnitus.  However they can be more expensive, but a good quality set in terms of comfort, build and audio quality can help bring peace of mind.
