I've just spotted a bug on my wall. I'm a bit paranoid about these things so I googled it. Google said bed bug. It didn't look like a normal bed bug but maybe one of the fed adults. It wasn't in my bedroom just on a random wall. Unfortunately I used Google lens to Google it and didn't take another picture for comparison before I killed it. I'm not 100% it did look like a bed bug but I can't find a more likely option on google. I only saw the one and I can't see any more evidence of them. I've hoovered that room but I'm really worried there's going to be more. I suck at house work and my flat is a mess. I know I need to tidy it up and hoover everywhere but it's really hard. I'm in an absolute panic. What on earth am I going to do if it's an infestation? I don't know how to handle this situation. I don't know where a bed bug would have popped up from. I've not stayed anywhere else recently.

  • Most likely it is not a bed bug.

    It is was, it would not normally be on a random wall.

    Do you have any bites on you? Usually several close together.

    If no bites, then there can't be any in the bed 

    Just change the sheets and carry on.

    No no bites and no evidence of them around. It didn't really look like a bed bug to me but there was potential for when they're fed. I just couldn't find an alternative on Google that it logically could be which made it hard because I needed an alternative theory.

    I've changed and washed the sheets and managed to tidy and hoover. I'm trying to look at it as the silver lining that I'd have done none of that for a while so at least it's a few jobs done that I'd never normally get done in one day.
