Special Olympics

Here’s a bit of a weird one that sounds hilarious to my neurotypical friends.

In year 7 I was in a ‘special olympics’ as they referred to at the time - stuff like curling and I can’t remember what other sports. Kind of feels like a fever dream and I had no explanation to why I was there and my parents never said a thing. Got silver medal though Joy

I have been fully bald for over 20 years (27 now) so I thought it was that but now I doubt it. I feel now that it’s likely that teachers assumed I was neurodivergent in some way but didn’t want to say it. I’m not sure though.

I’ll add that I’m a diagnosed with Level 1 Autism but on my own decision and in my 20s.

To me it sounds so odd but some might relate?
