My husband and I are both pensioners. We both have cancer. I need to go into hospital very soon for an operation and then have daily radiotherapy which involves a 50 mile round trip each day.
Our 36 year old son has Aspergers syndrome, has severe OCD, has a very limited diet and has PDA (Prevasive Demand Avoidance). He currently lives at home with us. His OCD and PDA make having him in the house very challenging. In the past we have tried to get help from the local authority social services department and from our GP. However, both say they cannot help if our son does not ask for help, which, of course, he will not as he does not see that he has a problem. If fact, the GP suggested a couple of years ago that I have some happy pills to enable me to cope with the situation.
Any suggestions on what to do?
