Newly diagnosed, what support can I access?

I am 22 years old and diagnosed officially yesterday. I would like to know what support I can access as someone who's just been diagnosed. I am also in University if that helps and I already claim benefits, it's more-so like help with dealing with a diagnosis, information, friendship opportunities and help with housing as I would like to move but I do feel I require support in order to do so. I would like to gain confidence and independence in myself. Thank you.

  • Since you’re in university, definitely reach out to the uni’s disability or student support service. They can help with learning accommodations, mental health services, and sometimes peer support networks. For housing and independence, contact your local council to see if you qualify for supported housing or assistance through an EHCP (if it extended into adulthood)
