I had my assessment today.

It must feel like such a relief, I'd like to say no more hoops to jump through, have they said anything about support yet.

Whats the frog book?

I’ve been offered support in the form of a pamphlet, the frog book is a picture book with no words, you have to describe what’s happening. They said I made a valiant attempt.

Dyslexia and dyspraxia have both been mentioned but  I’m happy as I am, I don’t think I want to be examined any further. 
They explain some of the pitfalls before they start,  incase I didn’t want to proceed, I would struggle to now join the military or emigrate to Australia, there isn’t much chance of either!

How terrible for you not to be able to join the military or emmigrate to Australia, lol.

I never had the frog book, it probably wasn't around when I was diagnosed.

Having a dyspraxia diagnosis could be useful, if, the Fods forbid, you  should have something like a stroke, or brain injury, or even assessment for dementia as it will give them an idea of whats normal for you and what isn't.

I agree. The frogs looked like turtles in some of the images, and I couldn’t make out some of the other things that I wanted to name and describe because the images were too simplified, and weren’t an accurate representation of what they were meant to be. It was rather degrading.

I got stuck on the first two pages, I was given hints and then told I could turn the page over on my own. I understand why the test is used, I just think a better option could be used for adults.

I struggled with the frog book too. The assessor kept encouraging me to move on to the next page as I couldn’t get past what I was trying to say about the first two pages.
