Newly diagnosed working adult, father: what should I read?

Hello. I’m newly diagnosed as autistic. I’m in my late 30s, work full-time in a professional role and I’m the main carer to my two children under 5 (my wife commutes a long way for work so is out of the house for long hours) - giving the background as particularly interesting to read about being an autistic parent and working in a high-powered job (not saying this to boast but just to give some background) while autistic.

  • What do you think you have problems with, i.e. what drove you to get a diagnosis. I would say don't go looking for problems, but it may be wise to ask your wife, just to be sure you are on the same page.

I'd think it would be sensible to look at how you respond to stress and how stressed you really are at the moment.
