go oractice manager

had a bit of a barney with the practice manager at my gp. She claims I am rude because I object to being forced to put confidential medical data on a commercial web site in order to see a GP.

She has written to me saying she is removing me from the Practice list.

  • I wrote to the administrator last week asking for the report that presented to the Partners at the meeting that demonstrates how she have complied with her responsibilities under Section 20 & 21 of the Equalities Act 2010 Act to make reasonable adjustments as set out ion the Public Health England website policies, procedures and staff training to ensure that services work equally well for people with learning disabilities  as well as Section 149, paragraph 2 and 3 of the Equalities Act 2010 when coming to your decision regarding an autistic client who is living under the intolerable mental stress of of loosing their wife of 43 years marriage to early onset and rapidly advancing vascular dementia whist waiting for mental health support requested by the Surgery to finally be provided after a wait of five months..

i winder what it will turn up.

  • I think there will be many people in the same boat as you, the obly thing I can suggest is writing to yhour health trust to complain, but as they're almost certainly pushing for this I doubt if you'll get any help. You could try other routes such as your MP, the national press, any other news media, such as Your BBC.

There are some practices round here that are going almost totally app based, I wonder how they're getting on with that when so many of thier patients are elderly and don't know how to use apps, or don't have a smart phone or live in areas where there's no reception.

I've had similar conversations with my GP's surgery, I take out my stupid phone and ask them how I do what they want on it and then gently explain to them that I don't have a smart phone, I don't know how to use one and can't afford one and that the last time I tried to use thier touch screen book in system it didn't log me in and I ended up sat there for ages and came up as a no show on the recpetionists computer.

  • I think you’ll have to find a way to come to terms with that kind of system, as it’s increasingly common.

My GP’s practice switched to a system like that recently. Even if a patient can’t fill the online form in themselves, and so phone up instead, the receptionists still enter the information into exactly the same system.

  • My autistic brain remembers you had issues of a similar nature before.

    I think we've discussed it.

These places, they can effectively hide behind all manner of regulation regarding your behaviour toward their staff - should they consider it to be in any way appropriate - and it seems likely that this is what could have happened here - rather than the matter of the medical data.

Of course they will never admit it.

Perhaps an alternative practice - a new start - might be a good thing ?

  • poxy web site…

    can't edit my typo
