Coin collecting

I'm a long time coin collector,  I collect only coins given in normal  change in shops, I never buy from specialist shops and the like.

But I've yet to see any king Charles coins. Has anyone seen one in the wild?   I have several £5, £10 and £20 notes.  But no king Charles coins.

  • There are apparently some out there, but I've never seen any either.   

    They say they keep a certain amount of coins and notes in circulation which suggests they only withdraw currency as it becomes damaged.  

    I am also fairly sure that many people are keeping Charles notes & coins rather than spending & circulating them, so perhaps in general they are harder to find, at least for the moment.

    I guess the alternative is to buy presentational packs (year dated and so forth) but that's not the same thing.
