Using Spoon Theory

Today, I'm definitely needing to sit down and work out my spoons for the day and maybe even the week ahead.

For those of you who have not used Spoon Theory, here's the best link I could find so far to describe it. But if anyone has got a better link, please, please post it here for me. Especially if you have a pdf that can be filled in.

I have also adapted this with a connect four set. For those of you who have missed out on this very intense game, I am attahing a 1981 advert from youtube.

Now time for me to sit down with pen and paper and the 1981 connect four.

Best wishes,

  • Thanks for sharing and I can relate to low levels of energy. Not really understood the whole spoons thing, I guess it’s not so objective? It’s more about the process of prioritising activities?

a little confused about the connection 4 reference but maybe I’m being very slow….

  • Understandably confused! I don't think I can explain it easily. Smile May have a go when I'm back on the mend. Hope you are doing okay. xx

  • Okay, so here goes. Instead of spoons, I use the counters. The yellow counters are the estimate of how many spoons it will take. The red counters are if it takes more energy than I have estimated.

    From left to right.

10 counters for going out this afternoon

5 counters for buying a few bits at the supermarket

2 yellows for the first phone call, which actually used up 3 spoons of energy

3 yellows for the second phone call, which actually used up 5 spoons of energy.

Sorry, if I have confused everyone more than ever!

    xx
