Diagnosis - Right to choose

Hello

As the Wiltshire Autism Assessment Service has a "very long" waiting list, my doctor has offered these right to choose services. I have no way of knowing who's best, so how do I assess my options?  Any recommendations ? I'm happy to travel by car.

• Clinical Partners

• Dr J and Colleagues

• Problem Shared

• Mind Professionals

Psychiatry UK"

I've been under Surrey mental heath for anxiety before - lovely people but they didn't diagnose the underlying cause. So going back there could be an option if that makes sense.

I'm under huge stress at the moment, so apologies if I'm not making sense.

Edit: Sorry, I've only just realised that some are online only, which I can't do. My smartphone is broken and I have insufficient privacy at home.

TIA

  • Hi and welcome to the community!

I had a very positive experience in being diagnosed by Psychiatry UK. Their service is delivered entirely online, so there wouldn’t be any need to drive anywhere.

I’ve previously recommended the psychiatrist there who assessed me to another member here, who later reported back that they also found them lovely to deal with.

I’d be more than happy to share that psychiatrist’s details with you, too - but would again prefer not to do that publicly. If you’d like to message me, I can send you the info privately. I’ve opened my messaging settings to allow you to reach me, if that would be of interest. But please don’t feel under any obligation or pressure to do so.

  • Thanks Bunny.
