I did what I set out to do and that was to air my grievances.  Did you find my writing too extreme or was I appreciated for shaking up the reverie in this forum?

Having never met other mild autistic people in real life and going by how limited online communication is I can't say I would get on with other neuro divergent people for long.

  • Once I realised I am a high-functioning autistic person, I have found an easy way to detect other autistic people - I don't get along with them! It was a strange and ironic discovery for me - one would expect it would be otherwise.

    I guess mostly my mask goes haywire - it's calibrated towards NDs. Plus all the empty platitudes and fluff I learned to say just pisses off any autistic person - and it's really hard to drop it - especially with NDs around. But I do find online communication overwhelming and tiring - so I don't blame you for considering leaving.
