I have only started this thread to see If you will (can be bothered) to use the "search bar"....... to seek out this thread.

There is nothing especially "special" about this thread....although it does has significance for me.

I'm wondering if we "the current masses" can get it to 'appear' as an "active" thread on the home page.......if we each add to it?

Will "multiple replies" on that thread, allow it to be "current" on our "currently-curated-by-3rd parties" home page in this forum?

This is citizen science!

I would be grateful to any of you who can add ANY comment this VERY old thread mentioned (ie the title of this thread)....that you will only be able to access if you use the "search bar" to connect into it.

  • Thank you for trying mrs snooks and o&u....I'm not surprised that it hasn't worked.  Everything old is hidden now and deemed unworthy of a place at the "home page."

    It is a form of "book burning" and censorship to my mind.

    I do appreciate that the majority of "current/remaining" folk here simply don't mind.  There is little oxygen for dissention or difference here now.....perhaps.  Most of the interesting oddballs have flown....i wonder why?

    Hi Number, I do enjoy reading your posts but find this one not to my liking. Every forum or system has to have someway of managing the posts on it, I am not sure I really understand what the problem is here? I understand the issues around posts disappearing or held under moderation and the clunkiness of the system but not sure I get this point?

    This point I definitely did not like, maybe I am misunderstanding it but it reads to me that the majority of the remaining community are somehow lesser or uninteresting in your eyes? Have i got it wrong?

    It is very sad to see people leave I agree but I dont think criticising those that are here is a good way especially considering a lot of people here are autistic.

    Good morning whiteD404,

    I am pleased to report that you have misunderstood or misinterpreted my intent and words here.

    No surprise in that !  = its me, not you = certainly!!  I extend my apologies to you (and others) for my evident and life-long shortcomings in communication techniques with humans.

    I certainly do not think that the current membership here-and-now are in any way deficient or bland.  This is not my point at all, but I  do know that some colourful and alternative opinions and perspectives that once abounded here have felt "bullied out" or "obstructed" in their communication to the extent that they have felt compelled to leave.

    The rules and structure of this forum have been changed.  That is understood.......but the information that we were given BEFORE that change was defective.  For instance, we were told that, if we wanted to see old threads "kept alive" in this new "iteration" of the forum, then we should go and respond to old threads that we wanted to "save" because only threads with posts newer than 12 months old would be "saved."  This was a falsehood.....it transpires that the thread needed to have been STARTED within 12 months of the changeover to this new system.  I wonder how many people wasted hours ?!

    I am aware of other "changes" that have occurred here (without ANY notice whatsoever) that necessitated the deletion of my original account.  I fear that this place has become rather exclusionary and harsh for a certain segment of the autistic spectrum?

    When I have no reliable 3rd party information to guide me, I tend to experiment.  This thread was an experiment.

    Sorry for any upset and annoyance I have caused (am causing) to others......but I am compelled to understand.
