I don’t often share my feelings. But the truth is that comments made about me recently have led me to feel that my presence is not acceptable to you (and perhaps also to some others). This has been deeply upsetting, as this is the one place where I should surely also feel both welcome and able to develop a sense of belonging.
That being said, in case you’re under any misapprehension, and in case it matters even remotely, I want you to know that - those issues aside - I do also welcome your presence here, as I always have done.
All I ask is that you extend that same acceptance to me - including in respect of my posting style, which, just like yours, reflects my own individuality and perspective. I hope you will take this reply in the constructive spirit in which it's intended.
