How is everyone Valentine’s Day?

Hi guys how was everyone’s Valentine’s Day? Me well I got paid today and went to my local cafe for breakfast then I met my friend for an hour who helped me get my dogs food I buy in bulks as it’s cheaper. I then worked on my model that I’m creating for my zen garden project. I’m now eating spaghetti bolognaise with a glass of Rose wine. On Sunday I’m over my friends again for a late valentines meal I’m making fajitas and he going to make a cheese cake for dessert sadly he couldn’t do this evening so we going to do everything on Sunday instead. So over to you guys what have you been up to today and how was your Valentine’s Day?

  • I have a problem with time in general, it is very slippery for me. I also know how calendars were developed and how random they are, there is no physical connection between the timings of the rotation of the Earth on its axis, the phases of the moon and the rotation of the tilted Earth around the Sun. I therefore have developed a deep antipathy for doing or buying things just because it is a particular date on the Gregorian calendar. I prefer to do things and buy presents because that's what I feel like, rather than being dictated to by a date. For Valentine's Day and wedding anniversaries, we usually discuss what we are going to do beforehand, this year we agreed to do nothing, no cards either, which suited me. I do birthdays and Christmas dutifully, however.

  • Yes I think the discussion bit was missed out before Valentine’s Day, that would have been very helpful for me as I obviously missed something somewhere which then creates panic. I don’t do hints really as they get overlooked, I would much rather someone be clear about what they want.

  • I agree, a "surprise", however well intended, can feel really unsettling.
