Monster...
Is it a monster?
I don't know if you are referencing that track, but it reminds me of a holiday in Cornwall. Ended up with Radio 1 breakfast show in the morning every day because there was no TV and very limited signal. They played the same tracks constantly, of which Monster was one.
Now I'm thinking about walking along cliff paths at dusk through persistent drizzle after eating local just-caught crab at a little pub in the cove. Fun times!

That song was based, loosely, on 'Theme from Sparta FC' by The Fall.
The missing link between The Fall and The Automatic was At The Drive-In; who split into two factions. Sparta and The Mars Volta.
I remember that song my mum changed the lyrics to what’s coming over the hill is it a monster no it’s a Faith dog. My old Dalmatian Faith was a monster lol every dog was afraid of her and she was extremely hyper around people.
Just makes me think of that film Cockneys VS Zombies, one of the best all time "bad" films!
I remember when we only had 3 tv channels too, now we've got loads and they still show the same stuff as they other main 4 or 5.
It is a great track. There can be little doubt of that?!
You are lucky to be able to remember a time of no TV and very limited signal!
I love the fact that you now write of "walking along cliff paths at dusk, through persistent drizzle" because that evokes loads of happy memories for me too.
On a darker note (just to keep things real)......the only thing that upset me about "coves" and caves/overhangs in those locations......is that flipping humans ALWAYS seem to use them as secluded toilets!!!.....Hence, they smelt less of the "submerged by the sea" smell (that I love).....and more of pooooooooooooo!?
