Tragically, the former thread has been deleted.
My suspicion (thanks to a friend) is that it may be because I created it under an old ID and that ID has now been deleted, presumably as part of the forum changes that have been taking place.
So, this is the new one.

What's it like? Looks pretty.
It was horribly crowded that day as we hadn't known that there was a festival on.
You couldn't move for people.
I'd suggest visiting in the winter.
I found the abbey very atmospheric.
It's a shame the old thread has gone, it had true value imo.
It did indeed - I used to browse it sometimes just for pleasure.
I've been semi hibernating from here too but I'm feeling more sociable too.
The spring coming is very cheering.
