The local supermarket will begin a refit on 1st February, which will take about 6-8 weeks.
Unfortunately, part of the building, which used to be an old pub, doesn’t meet fire safety standards. During this time, staff will be working at another store, sticking to their usual hours. To make things easier for everyone, local businesses will extend their hours and keep essential items in stock. If you need cash, the nearest ATM will be at the post office, and there’s even a local charity that will offer weekly trips to another supermarket for those with mobility challenges.
On another note, the library staff in our county have a conference coming up soon. All libraries are being reviewed, and I really hope there won’t be any job cuts. It’s sad to see libraries closing, and it’s concerning that mobile library services are going away. I’ve loved using the library since I was three! My biggest worry is having to give up my library membership and rely on the free telephone box library exchange instead.
