What's Important?

Do you find your brain struggles to prioritise what's important from non-essential things?

My brain seems to be unable to distinguish between what's ok to what's a problem, it just views it all as a problem. I don't just mean like paying a bill or something, I mean everything, like all need stories. I view a wildfire in LA as frightening as an incoming tidal wave to the coast where I live, the same as a dose of cold/flu that I contract

Fear of everything is so unhealthy

  • Thanks for the responses all.

Reason and logic are all sound in me, however, it's my unconscious mind that's doing all the work against me

  • If reason and logic don't help, and you're worrying constantly to the point it impacts your every day life maybe it could be an Anxiety Disorder. I don't know the details of diagnostic criteria, but I do know it's something a lot of autistic people get and that the NHS can help with.

I'm not saying it definitely is, but might be something you could raise with your doctor?

I hate when my subconscious starts sabotaging me. I often stress about things I know I shouldn't. It's not logical! I have mitigating strategies that work for me a lot of the time, but not always.

Good luck with finding ways to cope
