Hi,
I was just wondering if any of you have had any Tattoos done since your diagnosis. Or if you have had any covered up.
I'm considering this. Because the person I thought I was, isn't me at all.
Hi,
I was just wondering if any of you have had any Tattoos done since your diagnosis. Or if you have had any covered up.
I'm considering this. Because the person I thought I was, isn't me at all.
My two tattoos where probably adhd impulses but I never regretted them becuase the smiths and shine down are part of my general speical music I test as they are both so talented with how they use music theory to write songs my next tattoo is Taylor swift who as an autistic person brings me joy that I can’t control(litterly just seeing a picture of her makes me so happy and inspired to make music)
I’m the same. Before the diagnosis, I never would’ve considered getting a tattoo, but I’ve seriously been considering making a wishlist of tattoos and piercings.
I had two new ones yesterday, after a gap of ten years. A memorial one and a meditation figure. I'm really pleased with them. I'm booked in to have a bad cover up (over twenty years old) revamped next month. Happy.
You could try a small one, something meaningful to you like a name or quote.. something tiny and if you hated it at least it wouldn't be too hard to get removed
Hi!
I have quite a lot of tattoos, mostly animals as I love them so much and tattoos are kinda like therapy for me... a few of mine are badly done and I would very much like them covered/redone... I feel like they represent different parts of me and my personality/S but often wish I could start from scratch lol
I think I'd have 'you are far too close' tattoed on my forehead.
Congratulations on your diagnosis and welcome to the community!
I don't yet have a tattoo, but I like them.
I have some bad scarring on my legs which I am self conscious about and is associated with bad memories, and it partly prevents me from wearing anything that shows my legs. I'd like to get a tattoo over or around the scarring at some point to make it a positive rather than a feature that causes me distress. The only thing preventing me is time and money
I got a tattoo when I was 20 after returning from NYC. It's of a symbol I made up. Weeks after I returned 9/11 happened and I realised about 10 years later I'd actually got the shape of the symbol from part of the WTC which I visited.
Crazy how things work out, but I have had dreams consistent with 9/11 trauma ever since so the tattoo is a crucial part of that experience and I still love it 25+ years later.
I've since looked into removal. It's very costly and I'm not sure I'd cope with the light. I get migraines and even a flickering light in a store can set one off. I'm putting on hold the cover up, but adding to a tattoo project I started nearly ten years ago. It's a tribute to someone I lost.
I’ve just had a look at what’s involved in laser tattoo removal. Uhm, I still don’t want a tattoo of something like an animal, pattern or logo, but would consider a very subtle and understated eyeliner, lipliner and eyebrow definition.
The thought of changing an intrinsic part of me permanently is not appealing.
Tattoos are not really permaneny any more though - they are fairly easily removed by laser now
I don’t have tattoos as I just prefer my body to be the colour it is. The thought of changing an intrinsic part of me permanently is not appealing. People have been getting tattoos in countries all over the world for thousands of years so it is interesting to know others thoughts or reasons for/against.
