Online Community for diagnosed Autistic adults?

Hi everyone.

I am 33 and have been diagnosed with autism last year but I have also been diagnosed with Complex PTSD and Emotionally unstable personality disorder. The reason I am sharing this is because I have no family and no friends or romantic partners in my life so I am extremely isolated but more importantly very lonely. Christmas and New Year kind of made me realise as right across the festive period my door didn't knock and my phone didn't even light up.

Please could you guys & girls recommend how I can change this as it has been this way for 3 years now. Also is there any online chat sites with similar people or maybe online activities to meet new people?

Thanks S

  • This is my current favourite online community, and for CPTSD I also like watching Patrick Teahan, and Anna Runkle (aka Crappy Childhood Fairy) on YouTube. They have lots of free material, plus more you can pay for.

Depending what you're interested in there must be a lot of online groups, I found one called Green Living Forum to discuss aspects of the eco lifestyle including veg growing, home insulation, and - at the time - wood burning stoves.

There are lots of special interest groups and clubs you can join in real life to meet like minded people, from rambling through sailing or sewing circles to men in sheds. Lots of lawn bowls clubs are also social clubs. You may be coming up to the age when allotments become interesting. Only trying to help! It may take a while to get close enough to spend Christmas Day with someone, but churches, pubs and coffee shops are often open then.

How did you get labelled with an emotionally unstable personality disorder? Is it meant to be permanent? Is it part of the CPTSD? Can it change? Sounds dramatic
