waiting for an assessment

hello everyone, never posted here before but I'm in a bit of a pickle at the moment, i got accepted for a diagnosis mid last year and the waiting list is really long, is there anything i can do until it happens and also ive heard so many stories of people not getting diagnosed at the final hurdle because some of their traits dont match the criteria and im worried that will happen to me any advice on that?

thank you for reading and sorry its written a bit weird im just not sure how to say it right lol anyways thanks again!

  • Hi, as A said do your research and use it to understand yourself . I also found speaking to a psychologist very helpful, it allowed me exploring my feelings and thought process.

The NHS waiting list is horrendous and I was on it for 3 years before I used the "right to choose" which is available in England. This is where the NHS outsources the assessment to another organisation.
