New Agatha Christie novel just released based on this forum!

Very clever of Agatha to write this posthumously.

So, it's been decided that both Hercule Poirot and Miss Marple will have to join forces to crack these mysteries.

Two exceptionally clever brains are better than one.

Here are some of the puzzles.

1.  Where do threads go when they disappear and why do they disappear?

2.  How can threads reappear months after they have been mysteriously deleted with a 'deleted user' OP and all the answers missing?

3.  Why are we seen as spam and our posts thrown into Spam land, time and again?  Aren't there ways for the company that runs the spam filter (if that is the guilty party) to exclude long term members from it's fire?

4.  Why are our private messages being monitored re the message that ISperg received, or, perhaps, are they actually being monitored or is this just another of the 2K forum faults?

5.  Why does NAS not communicate with us over these forum faults as it is clear that they are causing a great deal of stress to us?

6.  Why are these problems not resolved?  If for example, it's a renegate spam filter, can't the company than runs it (this used to be Akismet) be contacted to loosen the reins?

7.  Why am I typing this when I've got much more useful things to do?

Are there any other mysteries I haven't covered?

  • Whatever money has been thrown at the previous problems has been used to put the old platform onto the "cloud".

Effectively this means that the program and all the computers needed to run this forum, instead of being under the owndership and control of NAS and housed in a physical building, has now been "outsourced" to a company like Amazon Web Services.

It's a cost saving measure I believe designed to eliminate the need for infrastructure and I.T people.

This, in and of itself, should not change how the forum works significantly.

But you can definitely tell when humans get taken out of the loop and replaced by machines...

    I'd forgotten that.
