Autistic person vs 'expert on autism'

It never ceases to amaze me how quickly some people go from  being a newly diagnosed autistic person to positioning themselves as 'experts' on all matters to do with autism.

  • Can there even be an expert on all matters concerning autism? I seriously doubt that. You can know everything there is to know about autism in general, but since it really depends on the individual how exactly asd manifests itself you can’t ever really be the kind of expert that has an answer to everything. I mean, not even professionals are all-knowing.
