How to choose a doctor on Psychiatry UK?

I've recently received a link from Psychiatry UK to choose an assessment date and time for an Autism assessment.

On the booking site I can choose from loads of different doctors to do my assessment.

How am I meant to choose? What criteria should I use?

Each doctor has a profile but these have an overwhelming amount of information, much of it irrelevant.

  • I suggest calling their support line to ask for their help and advice in selecting an assessor: 0330 124 1980

It would be useful to have any key criteria in mind before calling. For example, if you have a preferred gender, or if you have particular difficulty with processing strong regional or international accents (which could hinder the flow of communication during your assessment), or any other specific concerns.

Otherwise, please rest assured that all of the doctors who are being presented to you as options are capable of carrying out your assessment to the appropriate standards.

I'd personally suggest prioritising the most convenient appointment for you.
